<\/a><\/p>\nThe West Point Fire Protection District received a fire engine equipped with wildland suppression equipment worth $30,832. The department\u2019s previous engine was lost while fighting the Butte Fire in 2015 that burned more than 70,000 acres in California. The awarded engine will help ensure the department is prepared to provide assistance in future wildfires, which is increasingly important as the state experiences severe drought conditions.<\/p>\n
The Folsom Police Department received three automated external defibrillators (AEDs) worth $1,300 each as a part of the Foundation\u2019s 1,000 AED Gift Campaign, commemorating Firehouse Subs\u2019 1000th restaurant opening. The awarded AEDs will help ensure officers are prepared to provide medical assistance if an individual goes into cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n
Each restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $2 donation to the Foundation. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit\u2019s mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to \u201cround up\u201d their bill to the nearest dollar.
