{"id":32179,"date":"2017-01-20T16:53:14","date_gmt":"2017-01-21T00:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/69.46.6.243\/?p=32179"},"modified":"2017-01-20T16:53:14","modified_gmt":"2017-01-21T00:53:14","slug":"over-127-million-allocated-to-improve-maintain-californias-multimodal-transportation-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=32179","title":{"rendered":"Over $127 Million Allocated To Improve &#038; Maintain California\u2019s Multimodal Transportation System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stockton, CA&#8230;The California Transportation Commission (CTC) has adopted 49 projects, valued at more than $127 million, to support needed upkeep on California\u2019s aging roads and bridges, make upgrades to transit and rail systems and encourage use of alternative forms of transportation, including biking and walking.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ct_logo_trans.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ct_logo_trans.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ct_logo_trans.png 200w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ct_logo_trans-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/ct_logo_trans-30x30.png 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCaltrans is working to ensure every dollar counts when it comes to California\u2019s transportation infrastructure,\u201d said Caltrans Director Malcolm Dougherty. \u201cAlthough we must not forget that our state highway system\u2019s needs still exceed what resources are currently available, all these investments will benefit Californians now and for decades to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The newly allocated funding includes $47.4 million from the State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP) for 14 \u201cfix-it first\u201d projects that will repair bumpy pavement, preserve roads that are in good condition from deteriorating and upgrade bridges to make them safer and stronger.
