Sonora, CA…Sonora Regional Medical Center welcomes Peter Oliver, M.D., who has joined Sierra Vascular and General Surgery Associates. Dr. Oliver is a general surgeon who has provided care for our community since 1993 at Silver Oak Medical Office in San Andreas, which closed in February. Dr. Oliver remains committed to the community and will now see patients at Sierra Vascular and General Surgery Associates in Sonora and at Angels Camp Family Medical Center. <\/p>\n

Dr. Oliver earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School and completed residency training at the University of Illinois. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. As a general surgeon, some of Dr. Oliver\u2019s interests include minimally-invasive procedures and surgical treatment for benign and cancerous conditions of the breast. Dr. Oliver also takes a particular interest in each patient as a person. \u201cI get to know my patients as I walk them through the surgical journey,\u201d he explains. <\/p>\n

Dr. Oliver has four grown children and five grandchildren and lives with his wife Christine, a retired registered dental hygienist. Christine has been working to transition Dr. Oliver\u2019s practice while pursuing her passion for photography. An exhibit of her photos of Cuba is currently on display at Angels Camp Family Medical Center. Dr. Oliver enjoys spending his time away from work outdoors with activities including scuba diving and swimming. He is the current board director for the Bret Harte Aquatic Masters and is training for a significant open water challenge.
