<\/a><\/p>\nParticipants are welcome to walk or run the course. \u00a0All obstacles are designed to be challenging but are accomplishable by people of all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n
Obstacle Course<\/strong><\/p>\n Obstacle course races have become one of the most popular events in the running world in the last five years. There are races out there that have you run through mud, bounce down slides or even get splattered with paint. \u00a0We wanted to have more of a fire fighter theme to this run. \u00a0The Stop, Drop & Mud Firefighter Challenge has several firefighter themed obstacles that give you a glance of the life of a firefighter. \u00a0You will battle through 16 different obstacles that will challenge your strength, stamina and endurance.<\/p>\n Runners will run the race in a wave format beginning at 10:00 a.m. and every 30 minutes thereafter. \u00a0All participants in the Stop, Drop & Mud will receive the 2017 race shirt. \u00a0This race is open to anyone age 13 and up.<\/p>\n Why Run it?<\/strong><\/p>\n The Stop, Drop & Mud is hosted by the Central Calaveras Firefighters Association. \u00a0When you run in some of the larger obstacle races you are supporting a company that is hosting the race and then donating a very small percentage of the funds to some charity. \u00a0Our race is different. \u00a0Every single aspect of the race is planned, constructed and organized by our Volunteer Firefighters and Association members. \u00a0Countless hours are spent to get this race ready for our participants.<\/p>\n Financially every single dollar that is raised goes directly to supporting Central Calaveras Fire & Rescue Protection District. \u00a0It is with fundraisers like this that allow the Association to purchase vital equipment for the Department that its dwindling annual budget can\u2019t cover.<\/p>\n When you register for the Stop, Drop & Mud you are directly supporting Central Calaveras Fire & Rescue. \u00a0With this in mind we want to say thank you to everyone who has presently signed up and to those considering signing up!<\/p>\n Where does my race registration fee go?<\/strong><\/p>\n All registration fees and sponsorships will go directly to purchase new SCBA\u2019s (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) for the Central Calaveras Fire District. \u00a0Central Fire is currently using SCBA\u2019s made in 2002 and Federal Law prohibits the use of SCBA\u2019s more than 15 years old. \u00a0In June 2017 all 22 SCBA\u2019s currently in use by Central Fire will no longer be usable. \u00a0It is fundraising events like the Stop, Drop & Mud 5K that allow us to purchase vital equipment for the Department that its dwindling annual budget can\u2019t cover.<\/p>\n The Central Calaveras Firefighters Association is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. \u00a0Our tax ID # is 45-2853418.<\/p>\n
