<\/p>\nAngels Camp, CA…Aspiring young tennis players from throughout Calaveras and it neighboring counties are invited to take part in the 16th annual Youth Tennis Clinic to be held at Bret Harte High School, Angels Camp on Saturday, May 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. There is no charge for the clinic that will be led by Angella Woods, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) member. It is open to elementary through high school students regardless of current ability…<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Assisting Woods will be local high school coaches and other tennis-teaching professionals.<\/p>\n
\t\u201cMany youth from local and surrounding counties have participated in past free clinics,\u201d says Woods. \u201cAll players, beginners to advanced, are encouraged to participate. This is a great opportunity for junior players to meet with other aspiring tennis players in the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
\tDuring the free clinic players will be paired in groups according to age and ability. Instruction will take place through a variety of fun games and drills. <\/p>\n
\t\u201cIt is our goal for each student to have fun while learning the skills needed to build a strong foundation for the game of tennis, states Woods. \u201cAll participants in the clinic will also be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a free racket.\u201d <\/p>\n
\tThe clinic is made possible with the help of local volunteers and by its sponsors, the Murphys Area Community Tennis Association (MACTA), USPTA\u2019s Tennis Across America, Prince Tennis, and Volkl Tennis.<\/p>\n
\tThe May 9 free clinic is an introduction to a summer series of tennis clinics to be offered by Woods from June 8 through July 31 in Angels Camp and Murphys.<\/p>\n
