The bus service between San Andreas and Stockton has been discontinued.  The Delta Gold Line began service in January 2016 to provide Calaveras County residents with public transportation to the Amtrak and Greyhound stations, Delta College, shopping, and medical facilities in Stockton. But ridership has been too low to justify the high cost of operating the service.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-42099\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1.jpg 640w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1-123x70.jpg 123w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1-570x320.jpg 570w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Delta-Gold-Line-Bus-67_1-500x281.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just over half of the cost of operating the service was provided by a federal grant through the Rural Intercity Bus Program (FTA 5311f).  Fare revenues have made up only about 5 percent of the operating cost.
