\nMONDAY EVENING…<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued an
\nExcessive Heat Watch, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon
\nthrough Monday evening.<\/p>\n
* TEMPERATURE…Daytime highs will range from 110 to 115 across
\n much of the Central Valley with overnight lows only in the 70s
\n to lower 80s in the Central Valley and foothill thermal belts.
\n The hottest temperatures are expected Friday and Saturday, then
\n not quite as hot Sunday and Labor Day.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Potential for HIGH risk of heat related illness,
\n especially for sensitive groups: elderly, children, sick people
\n and pets and livestock.<\/p>\n
* ADDITIONAL IMPACTS…Plan outdoor activities accordingly! Try to
\n schedule holiday weekend activities in the morning or evening
\n when temperatures will be cooler, and with less exposure to
\n direct sunlight.<\/p>\n
PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…<\/p>\n
An Excessive Heat Watch means that a prolonged period of hot
\ntemperatures is expected. This may create a DANGEROUS SITUATION
\nin which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay
\nin an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
\nrelatives and neighbors.<\/p>\n
