Bret Harte Homecoming
\nDate: September 11th – 15th
\nTHEME: Under Where???<\/p>\n
Monday:
\nDress-Up Day:
\n\u25cf Under the Weather. Students will come to school in their pajamas.
\nLunch Time Activity:
\n\u25cf Find the gum in the pie.<\/p>\n
Tuesday:
\nDress-Up Day:
\n\u25cf Under Armor. Students will come to school dressed in sports attire
\nand memorabilia.
\nLunchtime Activity:
\n\u25cf Name that Song<\/p>\n
Wednesday:
\nDress-Up Day:
\n\u25cf Underdog. Students will come to school dressed like superheroes
\nLunchtime Activity:
\n\u25cf Musical Chairs
\nAFTER SCHOOL DECORATING PARTY 4-6
\nMusic and fun while all classes decorate and post signs together. 25
\nspirit points awarded each to the 2 classes that are the most
\nproductive and have the most students show up!<\/p>\n
Thursday:
\n\u25cf Under the Same Roof. Twin day! Students will come to school dressed
\nthe same as another student.
\nLunchtime Activity:
\n\u25cf Watermelon Eating Contest<\/p>\n
Friday:
\nDress-Up Day:
\n\u25cf Under the Lights. Students will come to school dressed in purple and
\ngold colors.
\nLunchtime Activity:
\n\u25cf Under the Shade
\nLunchtime Activities Scoring:
\nFirst Place: 40 points
\nSecond Place: 30 points
\nThird Place: 20 Points
\nFourth Place: 10 points
\n*Bret harte high school dress code applies to all dress-up days<\/p>\n
Campus Decorating:
\nEach class will be able to decorate their own section in the school. Each
\nclass will be assigned an area that they are allowed to decorate to earn
\npoints for their grade. Each grade will follow a specific theme with their
\ndecorations. On Friday, September 15th, decorations will be moved to a
\ndesignated area on the Bret Harte Track, to be on display during the
\nhomecoming game that night. Any class found damaging or removing
\ndecorations will be docked points. Each class will be responsible for
\ncleaning up their prospective areas in quads and also stadium by start of
\nschool Tuesday September 19th. Each class completely cleaned up will
\nreceive an additional 50 spirit points.<\/p>\n
The Decorating Areas are as follows:
\nFreshmen: Math and Science Building|Horseshoe side of the track
\nSophomores: Office Quad|Concession stand side of the track
\nJuniors: Upper Gym & Reese\u2019s Quad| Bus Chute
\nSeniors: Quad|Home Section
\nThe Class Themes are as follows:
\nFreshmen: Under the Big Top (circus)
\nSophomores: Undercover (spy)
\nJuniors: Under the Sun (beach)
\nSeniors: Under the Sea (ocean)<\/p>\n
Mini Parade:
\nUsing the class themes, each class will have a chance to partake in a walking
\nparade around the track between the Junior Varsity and Varsity
\nHomecoming game on Friday. Classroom advisors will have details on
\nwhere and when to line up on the game night. Wagons, picket signs,
\nbicycles, etc. No motorized or electric vehicles allowed.<\/p>\n
Scoring & Judging:
\nQuad Areas:
\nThursday @ 3:30 Judging will take place for school quad areas.
\nJudges are looking for: creativity, following particular theme, quality and
\nquantity of decorations.
\nFirst place: 150 pts.
\nSecond Place: 100 pts.
\nThird Place: 50 pts.
\nFourth: 25 pts.<\/p>\n
An additional separate 50 points will be awarded to the class which
\nincorporates the most school pride (purple & gold) into the theme.
\nStadium:<\/p>\n
Stadium Judging will take place Friday night during the games. Judges are
\nlooking for: creativity, following particular theme, quality and quantity of
\ndecorations. Time permitting, we hope to announce winners by half time<\/p>\n
Varsity game.
\nFirst place: 100 pts.
\nSecond Place: 50 pts.
\nAn additional separate 50 points will be awarded to the class that
\nreceives vocal audience judging.<\/p>\n
Mini parade:
\n75 spirit points awarded to each class that has participation of at least
\n15 members (people walking) and at least 15 different objects (signs, minifloats,
\ntwirlers, flags, etc).<\/p>\n
Homecoming Queens:
\nHomecoming Princesses nominated by Fall varsity Sports and campus
\nclubs. Staff vote nominations to final 5 princeses. Princesses will be notified
\nby Pond Wednesday, September 6th. They will pick their escorts and \u201cmode
\nof transportation\u201d around track for Homecoming Friday between Varsity
\nand Junior Varsity game. Princesses will be presented to the school at the
\nrally Friday, September 8th. Student Body will vote for Homecoming queen
\nfrom the 5 princess candidates during Pond, Wednesday September
\n13th. Drag will put ballots in your box for Pond. No student is forced to
\nvote, however one vote per student.<\/p>\n
Rallies:
\nFriday, September 8th: Presentation of Homecoming Princesses, Dress
\nUp days and Homecoming week promotion.
\nPeriods 2, 4, 6, 8
\nRally @ 2:40 during Pond.
\nFriday, September 15th: Homecoming Rally.
\nPeriods 2, 4, 6, 8\/Rally at 1:35; early release at 2:35. Students will check
\ninto Pond and teachers will escort students to the rally.<\/p>\n
Homecoming Dance:
\nDance from 9PM to 11PM outside in the Quad next to the Lower Gym. No
\nneed to dress up as the theme is purple and gold and school spirit. 5$
\nentrance, can be bought at the door.
\nDowntown Banner: Permit to be Hung up from 9.4.17-9.18.17 Purple and
\ngold jerseys to also be hung up.<\/p>\n
Guardian Angels: Varsity Volleyball and varsity cheer randomly select
\nvarsity football players to be guardian angels. Discovery will be revealed at
