<\/p>\nCopperopolis, CA…David Michael Barnett was driving a Ford pickup towing a boat trailer westbound on State Route 4 (SR-4), west of Hunt Rd. A Castro Valley man and his passenger were riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on SR-4 west of Hunt Rd, approaching Mr. Barnett. Another Castro Valley man was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on SR-4 west of Hunt Rd behind the Harley. Another party was driving a Mini coupe eastbound on SR-4, behind a motorcycle. Another party was driving a Honda sedan westbound on SR-4 behind Vehicle the Mini. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Due to his level of intoxication, Party 1 allowed his vehicle to travel to the left across the solid double yellow centerline, directly into the path of Party 2 and Party 3, causing Party 2 and Party 3 to take evasive action to avoid a collision. Both motorcycles rolled over, causing their riders and passengers to be ejected. Vehicle 1 continued westbound in the eastbound lane toward Vehicle 4. Party 4 saw Vehicle 1 approaching him so he applied Vehicle 4’s brakes. Party 5 saw Vehicle 4 coming to a stop in front of her, but was unable to stop before the front of Vehicle 5 collided with the rear of Vehicle 4. Party 1 steered Vehicle 1 to the right to avoid Vehicle 4 and 5, and Vehicle 1 traveled past Vehicle 4 and 5, across the roadway, and onto the north shoulder where it came to a stop. <\/p>\n
Party 1 was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and\/or drugs. <\/p>\n
Additional Person Involved: Driver Karyn Elizabeth McQueen; Party #5; 34; Female; Safety equip used; Mountain House, CA; Direction of Travel (East); 2014 Honda; transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for suspected minor injuries.<\/p>\n
This collision is still under investigation.<\/p>\n
