{"id":4709,"date":"2015-06-02T12:30:39","date_gmt":"2015-06-02T19:30:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/69.46.6.243\/?p=4709"},"modified":"2015-06-02T12:30:39","modified_gmt":"2015-06-02T19:30:39","slug":"robert-bob-vergne-devoss-1938-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=4709","title":{"rendered":"Robert \u201cBob\u201d Vergne DeVoss  1938 &#8211; 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>San Andreas, CA&#8230;Robert \u201cBob\u201d Vergne DeVoss.\u00a0 Born Sept. 04, 1938 in Stockton, CA.\u00a0 Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in his beloved garden of natural causes at his home in San Andreas, Ca. on Saturday May 30, 2015 at the age of 76.\u00a0 Bob, or Bobby as his family referred to him, was a long time resident of San Andreas, Ca and also lived in Santa Rosa, CA from 1989 \u2013 2013 before returning to San Andreas to retire. He graduated from Calaveras High School in 1957 where he was a successful athlete lettering Basketball, Baseball, Boxing, and Track &amp; Field.\u00a0 He met and married his first wife, Judy Nighsonger, and had 4 daughters Darlene, Alta, Trudi, and Patsy (Patrice) DeVoss.\u00a0 Bobby worked for Blagan Lumbar for a few years and went to work for the Calaveras Cement Plant as a welding mechanic and pipe fitter until it\u2019s closing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/dad-hat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4711\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/dad-hat.jpg\" alt=\"dad hat\" width=\"456\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/dad-hat.jpg 456w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/dad-hat-285x300.jpg 285w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/dad-hat-150x158.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAs a young man he had a 1958 Chevy and was very proud of it with all the glass packs and bragged about how he beat all the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Having 4 daughters Bobby was naturally a coach for the girls local \u2018Pony Tail Softball League\u2019 and coached and carried for many of the girls on the team treating them like his own kids and just so proud of each and every one of them and continued to reminisce, laugh and tell stories of all the games and players with exact detail and a smile on his face. His old players still call him Coach to this day.\u00a0 Kids, family and friends could often be found at the DeVoss house hanging out and swimming in the pool.\u00a0 He loved to cook Chicken-in-the barrel and dedicated a lot of his time to the community.<\/p>\n<p>He and his daughters were active in raising horses and showing in competitions and were members of the 17 Fillies and the Calaveras Saddle Club.\u00a0 Bobby even showed his own horse at a few Calaveras Saddle Club shows and did well.<\/p>\n<p>Bobby met his soulmate, best friend, and love of his life Hazel Einarsson in 2008 while playing cards at the Senior Center.\u00a0 Later he finally nervously asked her out on a date and married her on August 20, 2011 at their Beautiful home in the country in San Andreas, CA.\u00a0 Bobby loved to play cards and tell tall-tails.\u00a0 He was a joking and happy guy everyone always laughed and had a great time around him.<\/p>\n<p>Bobby could always be found in his garden and was renowned for his green thumb and immaculate garden.\u00a0 He also loved Fishing, Hunting, Camping, telling stories, Family, watching his Grandson play professional Baseball, playing with his Great-Grand Children, and Just hanging with his wife Hazel on the patio and the ranch.
