Sonora, CA…Deputies have located a stolen vehicle on Jamestown Road that Daniel Salazar was said to have escaped the Fire Camp in. The vehicle was unoccupied and parked on the side of the road. Deputies are searching the area. Please call the Sheriff’s Office if you see him at 209-533-5815 or 9-1-1. Salazar was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for second-degree robbery and using another person’s ID. Salazar is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with short black hair, hazel eyes and weighing approximately 185 pounds. His picture is in the flyer below.<\/p>\n

Last night Daniel Salazar escaped from North Kern State Prison in Delano. He may be headed to Tuolumne County in a stolen white 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Exempt Lic. Plate number 1493191.<\/p>\n

Salazar is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with short black hair, hazel eyes and weighing approximately 185 pounds.<\/p>\n

He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Please notify authorities immediately if you see him.<\/p>\n

Below is the CDCR release…<\/p>\n

California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) officials are looking for a minimum-security inmate who walked away from the Minimum-Support Facility at North Kern State Prison (NKSP).<\/p>\n

Inmate Daniel Lucas Salazar, 30, was discovered missing by custody staff on November 3, 2017, at approximately 9:10 p.m. during an institutional count. Escape procedures were immediately activated, and notification was made to Kern County law enforcement agencies. In addition, agents from CDCR\u2019s Office of Correctional Safety were immediately deployed to locate and apprehend Salazar. Surrounding residents have also been notified.<\/p>\n

Inmate Salazar was received by CDCR in August 2016 from Tuolumne County to serve a three-year, 8-month sentence for second degree robbery and use of another\u2019s identification to obtain personal information. Salazar is described as a Hispanic male with short black hair, hazel eyes and weighing approximately 185 pounds.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information on Salazar\u2019s whereabouts or who sees him is urged to notify local authorities or call 911.
\nSince 1977, 99 percent of all offenders who have left an adult institution, camp, or community-based program without permission have been apprehended.<\/p>\n
