<\/a><\/p>\nOfficers arrived on scene and determined that the vehicle was carjacked and the male on the ground was injured as he was trying to stop the man from driving away.<\/p>\n
The Calaveras Sheriff\u2019s Department and California Highway Patrol were notified to be on the lookout for the vehicle. The vehicle was later located driving north bound on Hwy 49 in San Andreas. The driver failed to yield to the emergency lights and sirens of the deputy that was behind him and continued to drive erratically and violate multiple traffic laws. The driver continued westbound on Hwy 12 to Wallace where he rolled the vehicle. The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at a local hospital, then booked in to the Calaveras County Jail.<\/p>\n
The driver was identified as 25 year old Lodi resident, Andrew Taormina. Taormina was booked at the Calaveras County Jail for the following charges:<\/p>\n
215(a) PC \u2013 Carjacking
\n212.5(c) PC \u2013 Robbery
\n10851(a) VC \u2013 Vehicle Theft
\n245(a)(1) PC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon
\n2800.2 VC- Evading a Peace Officer
\n23104(a) VC- Reckless Driving with Injury<\/p>\n
