Vallecito, CA…Due to the tremendous success of yard waste collection at the Red Hill Annex, driven in part by the need to clear lots for fire protection, the sheer volume of yard waste has overwhelmed the permitted capacity of the site. Therefore, effective June 9th, 2015, the Red Hill yard waste collection area will be temporarily closed while we work to improve the site. We are anticipating reopening the site in July.
\nThis temporary closure will not affect operations at any other County facilities.
\n\uf0b7 Yard waste will continue to be accepted at Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility, Wilseyville
\nTransfer Station & Yard, and at Miller Rock & Wood.
\n\uf0b7 Appliances, electronics, tires, batteries, oil, antifreeze or filters can be taken to the
\nGambi Disposal in San Andreas or the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility.
\n\uf0b7 Latex paints can be taken to the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility.
\n\uf0b7 Please refer to the County website at www.CalaverasRecycles.org for restrictions on
\ntransportation and disposal of hazardous and universal waste.
