<\/p>\nValley Springs, CA…On Saturday, May 5, 2018 @ 10:32am, the Charming Husband (William Kim \u2018Bill\u2019 Crane) passed away. It was SO peaceful and for that we are beyond grateful! Everyone should be so blessed to transition with as much love and support. Bill\u2019s life was and will continue to be remembered as one of love and kindness personified. He gave his time, energy and talents in support of the Friends of the Library (annual Melodramas!), the Valley Springs Youth and Family Center, the Volunteer Center, CERT, the American Red Cross, American Legion Post 102, Mark Twain Medical Center Health Fairs, Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program, the Valley Springs Fairy Tale Garden and many other community projects.<\/p>\n

Bill was a big ham, and his only reason for getting up in the morning was to lighten the stress for someone else and bring a smile to their heart. It\u2019s been said that when he smiled, everything else went away and that he could instantly fill the room. Bill and Marti happily shared 45 years of loving support in a purpose-filled life.<\/p>\n
He was proud of the opportunity to serve his country in the U.S. Army Airborne, 82nd Division. Being called Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, Mr B, and of course The Charming Husband warmed his heart and made him smile. <\/p>\n
Bill was the youngest in the family, born in Oakland, CA on September 24, 1940. He was 77. His mother, Nellie Elizabeth Williams, was one of 13 children. His sister, brothers, father, step-father, mother and one lovely daughter each preceded him in death.<\/p>\n
Moving forward, we will come together in celebration to honor our Bill, our veterans, the children who are leading the way into the future, all our fragile friends and neighbors, and of course the good people of Calaveras who work diligently and consistently to make this a wonderful and loving place to live, visit and age gracefully.<\/p>\n
