As Macdiarmid came to a curve to the right just west of Higdon Road, he hit his brakes, locking up the wheels of the vehicle he was driving, and went straight off the south side of the roadway where he collided with a cedar tree, knocking it down.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-37824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg 200w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Macdiarmid was not wearing a seatbelt, and was partially ejected from the vehicle, causing major injuries to Macdiarmid.  Passenger Lucero was also not wearing her seatbelt and suffered major injuries.  Passenger Palmero had her seatbelt on and suffered moderate injuries.
