He graduated from Calaveras High School in 1967. \u00a0Ed was traveling with his wife on an RV trip, through Medford, Oregon, when he became ill.  Ed passed away on June 26th, 2018 surrounded by family.  Ed leaves behind two sons, Brett and Eddy, a daughter-in-law, Sara, and a stepdaughter, Kayla Northington.\u00a0 Ed was also a newlywed and leaves behind his wife, Kathy.\u00a0 Ed and Kathy met in high school; they attended the Sweetheart Swing together.\u00a0 In September 2011, they rekindled their friendship and started dating.\u00a0 They married in October of 2016.\u00a0Ed was most proud of his grandchildren, Soleil, Lavin and Sloane. He loved them dearly and for Ed it was a great day when he could spend time with them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/EdGouzennePicture.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/EdGouzennePicture.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"480\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-63212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/EdGouzennePicture.jpg 326w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/EdGouzennePicture-204x300.jpg 204w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On April 15th, 2017, Ed retired from Calaveras Telephone in Copperopolis where he proudly worked for 38 years. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ed had a servant\u2019s heart.\u00a0 He served as a volunteer fire fighter for over 40 years, and currently served on the Copperopolis Fire Department board.\u00a0 He was a member of the IOOF Campo Seco 66 Lodge serving as the Noble Grand.\u00a0 Ed was part of the Tuleburg Chapter of Clampers. Ed\u2019s greatest quality was his care and concern for his friends and family.\u00a0 He was always looking for ways to help friends who might be down on their luck, or just needed a little help.\u00a0 His heart was that of an angel and he will be greatly missed.<\/p>\n<p>A Memorial Service is planned for 10 am on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at Copperopolis Elementary School, 217 School Street, Copperopolis, CA.
