<\/p>\nMurphys, CA…A free Labor Day Concert by the longest \u201claboring\u201d band in the County, the Calaveras Community Band, will take place at the Murphys Community Park on Monday, September 3, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. (Please note this time is earlier than usual starting times.) The Calaveras Community Band has been in existence since the 1880s, and it is something special!<\/p>\n

Bring your friends and family, young and old, \u201claboring\u201d or not, to Murphys Park to enjoy the live music on this holiday. You might want to bring a picnic dinner and your swimsuit for a dip in the creek, while the Band performs patriotic pieces, Latin music, a Gershwin tune or two, a medley from Phantom of the Opera, as well as other familiar favorites. There will be something for everyone!<\/p>\n
Please note that during the summer, the Calaveras Community Band practices every Monday evening (until Labor Day) in the Murphys Community Park. These informal concerts begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by rehearsals from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Everyone is always welcome to come listen. Musicians of all ages and experience are invited to join the Calaveras Community Band.
