Did you know that over 80% of the high alpine terrain in the Sierra Nevada Mountains is currently closed to snowmobiles? Five of the The National Forests in California are developing over snow vehicle (OSV) travel management plans as a result of lawsuits from anti-snowmobile groups. Check the tabs for each forest. The Stanislaus NF is currently accepting comments on proposals that could close 84% of the forest permanently to snowmobiles.
