Closures will remain in place on SPI lands in the vicinity of the Carr, Hirz and Delta fires though 2019 to ensure the safety of the public and crews working to recover and restore the lands impacted by those fires.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-65272\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/spilogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/spilogo.jpg 307w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/spilogo-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSPI takes its commitment to protecting our forest resources and public safety seriously,\u201d said Andrea Howell, SPI spokeswoman. \u201cWe thank the public for respecting these temporary closures. We are glad conditions have improved so that we can reopen our lands for responsible recreation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SPI\u2019s public access policy allows for use of its California forestlands for hunting and other recreational activities, with many areas limited to non-motorized use for resource protection or public safety concerns.
