With the train whimsically decorated for Halloween and staffed by a \u201cskeleton crew,\u201d the popular experiences take place aboard an excursion train that departs at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturdays, the excursion train will be pulled by Sierra No. 3\u00ae (the \u201cMovie Star Locomotive\u201d) and on Sundays by a vintage diesel locomotive.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/40436322_10156061827233731_3165756403163856896_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-68949\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/40436322_10156061827233731_3165756403163856896_n.jpg 640w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/40436322_10156061827233731_3165756403163856896_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/40436322_10156061827233731_3165756403163856896_n-570x379.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Train ride guests are encouraged to get in the spirit and dress up according to these fun weekly themes: Critters &#038; Creatures (October 6-7), Superheroes &#038; Villains (October 13-14), Pirates &#038; Princesses (October 20-21) and Witches &#038; Wizards (October 27-28).<\/p>\n<p>Located in the heart of California\u2019s Gold Country, Railtown 1897 SHP combines railroad heritage, local history and the lure of Hollywood and is one of only two authentic and still-operating steam-era railroad roundhouse complexes in the entire country.
