<\/p>\nGroveland, CA…On Thursday, November 1, 2018, at approximately 1:37 am, CHP Merced Communications Center received a call of a traffic collision on Ferretti Road west of Lumsden Road. The reporting party had located a solo vehicle overturned off the roadway. The driver, solo occupant, 17 year old Groveland Resident, was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Passat westbound on Ferretti Road west of Lumsden Road. Coming out of a right hand curve in the roadway, she allowed the vehicle to cross over the opposite side of the road and ran off the south road edge. The vehicle struck several trees and overturned, coming to rest on its roof approximately 40 feet down an embankment. <\/p>\n

The driver was extricated by emergency personnel and transported by air to Modesto to be treated for major injuries. Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in this collision. <\/p>\n
