Sacramento, CA…California Attorney General Xavier Becerra issued the following statement after successfully leading fourteen Attorneys General in securing a preliminary injunction in\u00a0State of California, et al v. Alex Azar, II, et al<\/a><\/em>. The preliminary injunction blocks the Trump Administration\u2019s\u00a0attempt to\u00a0deny\u00a0millions of women and their families access\u00a0to cost-free birth control guaranteed by the Affordable Care Act by allowing employers to interfere with their healthcare decisions.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cThe law couldn\u2019t be clearer \u2013\u00a0employers have no business interfering in women\u2019s healthcare decisions,\u201d\u00a0said Attorney General Becerra. \u201cToday\u2019s court ruling stops another attempt by the Trump Administration to trample on women\u2019s access to basic\u00a0reproductive care. It\u2019s 2019, yet the Trump Administration is still trying to roll back women\u2019s rights. Our coalition will continue to fight to ensure women have access to the reproductive healthcare they are guaranteed under the law.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorney General Becerra led a coalition of attorneys general from:\u00a0Connecticut, Delaware, Hawai\u2019i, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n
