Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”Early this morning, Deputy O\u2019Brien pulled over a red Mercury Cougar on Tuolumne Road in Sonora for having a brake light out. A records check of the driver, 36-year-old Brandon Salter of Sonora showed he was wanted and on probation. Salter refused to step out of his vehicle for a search but finally complied and told deputies he had a shotgun in a backpack on the passenger seat of his car. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, drug packaging, and several individual baggies containing over 34 grams of methamphetamine were found.<\/p>\n

Salter was arrested and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, manufacturing a short barreled rifle\/shotgun, and possession and transportation of a controlled substance.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
