The driver failed to yield to the marked patrol unit\u2019s emergency lights and siren and accelerated away from the deputy. The suspect continued at a high rate of speed fleeing westbound on Highway 4, forcing several motorists off the roadway. As the suspect vehicle turned onto Avery Sheep Ranch Rd, the driver threw a dog out the driver\u2019s window. The dog was able to scurry off the road. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ccsoround.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-81056\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ccsoround.jpg 250w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ccsoround-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/ccsoround-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For public safety concerns, the pursuit was terminated. Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area. The suspect\u2019s vehicle was located down a wooded ravine near 3000 block of San Domingo Road in Murphys. At approximately 1:00 PM, CHP officers locat ed the suspect, Skyler Gregory (age 20 from Arnold) on San Domingo Rd. Suspect Gregory was taken into custody and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.<br \/>\nDuring a search of the suspect\u2019s vehicle deputies located suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia (glass smoking pipe) and items used to siphon gasoline. The suspect later admitted to siphoning gasoline in the Arnold area. <\/p>\n<p>Suspect Gregory was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on a Calaveras County Superior Court warrant as well as the following charges:<br \/>\n2800.2 CVC \u2013 Felony evading a peace officer<br \/>\n23103(A) CVC Reckless Driving<br \/>\n597 (c) H&#038;S Cruelty to Animal<br \/>\n11364(a) H&#038;S Possession of drug paraphernalia<br \/>\n12500 (A) CVS drive without a license.<br \/>\nBail $75,000<\/p>\n<p>Calaveras County Warrant<br \/>\nFilature to appear:<br \/>\n12500(A) CVC Drive without License<br \/>\n4000(a) CVC Failure to pay Registration fees<br \/>\n16028(A) CVC Drive without Insurance . <\/p>\n<p>Bail $2,500<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arnold, CA&#8230;On June 2, 2019, at approx. 9:30 AM hours a Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Office patrol deputy initiated a vehicle enforcement stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic infraction on Mandel Road near White Pines.
