\nBurson Vehicle Pursuit
\nOn 8-4-15 at about 0252 hours, Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed crossing double solid yellow lines. Deputies observed the vehicle driving in the opposing lane at speeds in excess of 70 mph. The vehicle described as a truck pulled into a driveway located on the 12000 block of Pattison Road in Burson and lost control into a marijuana cultivation site. The driver was contacted and subsequently arrested for failing to yield; he was identified as 37 year old Burson resident James Milton Buckley Jr. Deputies conducted a search of his vehicle and located a large quantity of methamphetamine, about 1.16 pounds. Deputies secured a search warrant for the property.
\nThe search warrant was served on the property allegedly rented to James Buckley Jr. A second subject, Michael Ray Bailey (34 years old) was located on the property and was contacted. Michael Ray Bailey was subsequently arrested for failing to register as a sexual registrant. The search warrant yielded a stolen ATV, a stolen pick-up truck, a stolen semi-automatic firearm, and miscellaneous stolen concrete equipment.
\nSuspect James Buckley Jr. was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for evading, possession of firearm by a felon, carrying a loaded firearm with intent to commit a felony, possession of a cane sword, transporting controlled substances, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Bail was set at $60,000.
\nSuspect Michael Bailey was booked for failure to register as a sex registrant; bail was set at $15,000.
