<\/p>\nAngels Camp, CA…NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Resolution No. 20190716r089 passed by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors on July 16, 2019, a Special Election for the City of Angels Camp will be held on November 5, 2019, for the purpose of voting on the following measures: <\/p>\n

Measure C
\nShall the measure permanently increasing the City of Angels\u2019 transient occupancy tax from ten percent (10%) to twelve percent (12%), to generate an additional $200,000 annually from hotel and vacation rental guests, to fund essential public services including emergency fire response and protection, police patrols, public works maintenance, business attraction and retention; and to increase the City\u2019s appropriations limit for Fiscal Years 2020-2024 by the amount of tax proceeds received by the increase, be approved?

\nShall the offices of City Clerk and City Treasurer be appointive?

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that arguments for or against the above measures will be accepted in the office of the County Clerk, Election Division, at 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249. Arguments shall not exceed 300 words in length and shall be titled either \u201cArgument In Favor Of Measure ___\u201d or \u201cArgument Against Measure ___.\u201d Arguments must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on, July 29, 2019. <\/p>\n
A ballot argument shall not be accepted unless accompanied by the name or names of the person or persons submitting it or, if submitted on behalf of an organization, the name of the organization and the name of at least one of its principal officers. No more than five signatures shall appear with any argument. All arguments must also be accompanied by a statement that the argument is true and correct to the best of his\/her\/their knowledge and belief.<\/p>\n
If more than one argument for and one argument against the measure is received, the selection will be made pursuant to the provisions of the Elections Code 9166. <\/p>\n
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if an argument in favor of and an argument against the measure is submitted, copies will be mailed to the respective authors. The authors may prepare and submit a rebuttal argument not to exceed 250 words in length. Rebuttal arguments must also be accompanied by a statement that the argument is true and correct to the best of his\/her\/their knowledge and belief. The deadline for filing a rebuttal argument will be 5:00 p.m. on August 8, 2019. <\/p>\n
