The seven precast bridge girders needed for the $14.1 million Echo Summit Sidehill Viaduct Replacement Project will not be ready in time for an October closure. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lakesidenews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/echo1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22099\" \/><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lakesidenews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/echo2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22098\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Instead, contractor Q&#038;D Construction will winterize the job site and come back to finish the project next year, which was the orignal schedule for the project.  In addition to the girder installation deck surfacing, work needed to complete the project includes paving the approaches to the bridge, constructing new barrier walls and demolishing the existing structure, which was built in 1939.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing work on the bridge is taking place daytime Monday through Friday with reversing one-way traffic control and delays up to 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Caltrans advises motorists to \u201cBe Work Zone<br \/>\nAlert.\u201d The department will issue updates on<br \/>\nTwitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at<br \/>\nCaltransDistrict3.
