A strong but dry storm system will move south through northern
\nCalifornia Saturday night and Sunday. This system will cause
\nstrong and potentially damaging North to East winds over much of
\ninterior California including the Delta, portions of the
\nmountains and foothills. This will likely be the strongest wind
\nstorm of the fall season and one of the strongest of the past few
\nyears. Extreme fire weather conditions are likely.<\/p>\n

\nMONDAY FOR LOW HUMIDITY AND STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS…<\/p>\n
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Red Flag
\nWarning, which is in effect from 11 PM Saturday to 11 AM PDT
\nMonday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.<\/p>\n
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zone 267.Fire weather zone 269.<\/p>\n
* WIND…Northeast to east wind 25 to 45 mph with gusts 35 to
\n65 mph, locally higher in favored canyons and exposed ridges.<\/p>\n
* HUMIDITY…Daytime minimum humidities in the teens and single
\ndigits with poor overnight recoveries from the teens to 30
\npercent.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
\nOutdoor burning is not recommended.<\/p>\n

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
\nare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
\nstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can

\nValley and Delta with local northeast wind gusts of 55 to 65
\nmph in the foothills and mountains.<\/p>\n
* WHERE…Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothills and
\nmountains.<\/p>\n
* WHEN…From Saturday evening through Sunday evening.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Damaging winds could blow down trees and power
\nlines. Widespread power outages are possible. Difficult
\ndriving conditions.<\/p>\n
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Trees damaged in previously burned areas
\nwill likely fall with these winds.<\/p>\n
