<\/p>\nSan Andreas, CA…The Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Office is pleased to announce the addition of a new rescue vehicle to their fleet. The rescue vehicle is an all-terrain vehicle that can be utilized in emergencies, including active assailant incidents, hostage situations, armed or violent suspect apprehension, and search and rescue missions. It allows Sheriff\u2019s Deputies to enter dangerous situations to effectively bring about peaceful conclusions. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Deputies will have an increased ability to de-escalate situations that could otherwise end up in one or more fatalities. Additionally, the rescue vehicle\u2019s ballistic resistance allows deputies to rescue victims or hostages during ongoing violent incidents, enabling faster care for the injured thus, saving more lives.<\/p>\n
The rescue vehicle models are built on heavy-duty commercial truck platforms, which allow upkeep and repairs to be performed at the department mechanic, greatly reducing maintenance costs versus other specialized vehicles.
\nThe Rescue Vehicle will be on display in the front parking lot at the Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/p>\n
