These individuals are employed in Amador but do not reside within the county. During contact investigations all persons who were in close contact with a confirmed case are contacted, evaluated, and given further instructions. \u201cThese newly confirmed cases are an indication of the increasing circulation of the novel coronavirus in California, as expected, given the patterns in our state and region\u201d says Dr. Rita Kerr, Amador County Health Officer. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur community should remain calm while remembering to take all appropriate steps for heightened precautions. Today\u2019s new information reinforces the need for everyone to follow the Stay at Home Order and practice social distancing measures. They are intended to reduce the spread of the virus and protect community health.\u201d <\/p>\n
The new confirmed cases, who reside outside of the county, will not be included in the Amador case count. <\/p>\n
