<\/p>\nSonora, CA…On April 2, 2020 at approximately 10:00 P.M., a Tuolumne County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy initiated an enforcement stop on a white pickup truck in East Sonora. The truck failed to yield to the Deputy and began traveling eastbound on Mono Way, failing to stop for several red traffic lights. The truck entered eastbound Highway 108 and the Sheriff\u2019s Deputy requested the CHP to take over the pursuit. CHP units took over the pursuit on SR-108 near Long Barn and continued to chase the white truck, which was being driven by 32-year-old Cassady Ian Grambergu of Sonora. The pursuit continued to the winter closure point at Sno-Park where the pickup attempted to make a U-turn and collided into a tree. Grambergu eventually completed the U-turn and accelerated toward a CHP vehicle. Another CHP vehicle was able to pin the truck against a snow bank to stop Grambergu\u2019s vehicle. Grambergu refused to exit the truck. <\/p>\n

A TCSO Deputy utilized a kinetic energy weapon to break the driver\u2019s side window of the pickup. Grambergu continued his refusal to exit the vehicle and a TCSO K-9 was deployed. <\/p>\n
Grambergu was then taken into custody for felony evading of a Peace Officer. This pursuit lasted approximately 25 miles, reaching speeds up to 65 mph.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
