<\/p>\nSacramento, CA…California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom will host an interactive virtual story time via Facebook Live on April 30th from 10:00 a.m. \u2013 10:30 a.m., on D\u00eda de los Libros. D\u00eda de los Libros is a multi-day, national library event that fosters multicultural literacy for all children from all backgrounds. The First Partner will read We Count, which teaches young children the importance of getting counted in the 2020 Census, in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m excited to celebrate children and promote literacy as part of D\u00eda de los Libros this year,\u201d said First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom, who hosted a bilingual story time at the State Capitol last year for D\u00eda. \u201cAs we shelter safely at home, I hope families across California will join me virtually to share in the joy of reading, and to connect with one another while we are physically apart.\u201d<\/p>\n
The reading will be held on Thursday, April 30th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and broadcast from the First 5 Association Facebook page. Viewers can RSVP and access the reading via this link. The event is co-sponsored by the First 5 Association of California, First 5 California, and the California State Library. We Count is authored by Lisa Bernstein of Simply Put Media.<\/p>\n
