Valley Springs, CA…On June 23, 2020 at approximately 2150 hours, Brandon D. Maggard was driving his Chevrolet Corvette on westbound SR-26, east of Quail Oaks Road. As Mr. Maggard was negotiating a curve in the roadway for westbound traffic, he allowed his vehicle to travel into the eastbound lane, where he lost control of the Chevrolet.

The Chevrolet traveled back into the westbound lane out of control, where it continued off of the north roadway, onto the north shoulder of SR-26, where it overturned in a grass field. As the Chevrolet was overturning both the driver and passenger were ejected out of the vehicle, before it came to rest on its roof.

Subsequently Mr. Maggard was arrested for felony DUI. Both parties sustained major injuries and were life flighted from the scene.

Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in this traffic collision.
