Cameron Park Woman Arrested for Burglary to Murphy’s Fire

Murphyss, CA…On June 27th, 2020, at about 8:00 AM, The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a Murphys Fire Captain, who stated he observed a female in possession of stolen items from the Fire Department. Upon arrival, deputies contacted the female, Charlotte Nicole Edwards (34 years old from Cameron Park). Charlotte gave a false name to the deputies and initially told them she was there to do some landscaping around the buildings.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Charlotte had entered the garage where fire apparatus are parked, main building, and several vehicles, including an ambulance. Charlotte had items on her person and staged several items around the property to steal; however, the fire captain interrupted her efforts. The items included weed eaters, a leaf blower, food, sunglasses, extension cord, and other miscellaneous items.

Charlotte was arrested at the scene and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on 460 PC Burglary (Felony), 10852 CVC Tampering with a Vehicle (Misdemeanor), and 148.9 PC Giving False Identification to avoid Prosecution (Misdemeanor). She is being held in the county jail with a bail of $20,000.00.
