Sonora, CA…At approximately 1 AM on July 25, 2020, Officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to the 600 block of W. Stockton St. for a reported Stabbing. Officer’s arrived on scene and learned that the 28-year-old victim had been driven to a local hospital by a good Samaritan prior to the arrival of the Officers.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that the victim got into a verbal altercation with suspect. The suspect then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times in the torso. The victim is in stable condition and expected to recover from his injuries.

This is an active investigation and the search for the subject is still underway. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
