Groveland, CA…The latest from the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Office…”UPDATE 9:11AM We now have a phone number for non-emergency fire related information. Please call 209-533-5151. UPDATE 8:09 AM The #MocFire is up to 2500 acres per CAL Fire with zero containment. Wards Ferry Rd is now closed in Big Oak Flat and on the Sonora side. The mandatory evacuation is still in effect up Hwy 120 to Smith Station Rd. Marshes Flat Rd, Moccasin Ranches, Loreen Ln, and Nancy’s Ridge Rd are all mandatory evacuation. UPDATE 9:45 PM WESTBOUND HWY 120 OPEN for people to evacuate. Please drive safely.

UPDATE: 9:25 PM MANDATORY EVACUATION now in effect of Groveland and Pine Mountain Lake. Evacuation includes up Hwy 120 to Big Creek Shaft Rd.

An evacuation order has been issued for the following areas:
Greeley Hill / Coulterville
This includes all roads North and South of Greeley Hill Road (J132) from the 4700 Block of Hwy 132 to Hwy 120
This is NOT a Mandatory Evacuation warning, this is a warning only of fire in the area, allowing you to prepare for a potential Evacuation Order should conditions change. No action is required at this time, however if you feel unsafe please leave the area.
A Temporary Evacuation Point has been established at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, please stay in your car and wear a mask when contacting Red Cross.

CAL Fire reports the Moccasin Fire has soared to 1,700 acres and there are hundreds of homes threatened. The fire is moving southeast toward Coulterville and there is still no containment. The CHP reports an additional road closure at Priest-Coulterville and the Greeley Hill Road intersection. For those evacuating Mariposa Fairgrounds is accepting evacuees along with the Mother Lode Fairgrounds on Stockton Road in Sonora, which is allowing pets and livestock.

UPDATE 7:10 PM MANDATORY EVACUATION Hwy 120 to Boneyard, Second garrote, and Incense Cedar Trail, and everything West of Second Garrote, Cherokee Trail, and Yosemite Springs

A evacuation warning has been issued for the following areas:
Hwy 49N from the Mariposa / Tuolumne County Line to Mary Harrison Mine Rd including Mary Harrison Mine Rd
Hwy 132 from the 4700 Block of J132 (Greeley Hill Rd) to Priest Coulterville including Priest Coulterville Rd.
This is a warning only at this time, allowing you to prepare for a potential Evacuation Order should conditions change. No action is required at this time, however if you feel unsafe please leave the area. MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER: now being issued from Hwy 120 at Moccasin through Big Oak Flat, to Merrell Rd in Groveland. This includes Priest Coulterville Rd.

Fire acreage at 300 acres and moving to the East with a critical rate of spread

UPDATE 3:20 PM Evacuation orders are now being given for the community of Moccasin, as well as Marshes Flat and Moccasin Ranch Estates.
Hwy 120 at 49 is now closed to through travel.

Evacuation warnings now being issued from Hwy 120 at Moccasin through Big Oak Flat, including Priest Coulterville Rd.

Animal Control (209) 694-2730 and Team Elite (209) 782-0616
are on standby to assist with animals.

Evacuation order means- There is an IMMEDIATE threat to life and property. This is a lawful order to leave the area immediately, and the area is lawfully closed to public access

An emergency evacuation shelter is being set up at the Manzanita Building at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

As of 2:30 pm, the fire has reached 50 acres.

Deputies are arriving to give evacuation warnings to residents from Marshes Flat Road to Moccasin Ranch Estates.
We are asking the residents to please evacuate towards La Grange

Firefighters are at scene of a 5 acre vegetation fire near Hwy 49 and Hwy 120 in Moccasin.

Hwy 49 is currently closed at Hwy 120. Please avoid the area to allow fire crews to operate safely and efficiently.
