Mokelumne Hill, CA…On August 29, 2020, at approximately 1138 hours, the Stockton Communications Center received a call of a traffic collision involving a solo motorcycle on State Route 26, near Sport Hill Road in the Mokelumne Hill area. Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) San Andreas Area Office responded to the scene and discovered a deceased male motorcycle rider.

It was determined Mr. Rueda was riding a 2015 Honda CBR 1000 RR motorcycle on State Route 26 eastbound, east of Sport Hill Road, at an unknown speed. Mr. Rueda failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, drove off onto the right shoulder and overturned. Mr. Rueda was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.

It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this collision.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and no additional details are available.
