Mountain House Man Arrested After High Speed Chase

Jamestown, CA…Felimon Santos from Mountain House was arrested after a high speed chase that ended when he laid his motorcycle down. Today at approximately 1:27pm, CHP Officer McDaniel observed a red motorcycle traveling in excess of the posted 55 mph speed limit, eastbound on SR-120 east of La Grange Road. Officer McDaniel attempted to stop the vehicle at which time the rider accelerated away in an attempt to flee. The rider continued eastbound reaching speeds of 110 mph on the Bonavilla Grade east of Yosemite Junction.

He continued into Jamestown where he made a left turn onto Rawhide Road. The rider maintained 50 mph or less on Rawhide Road before reaching the top of the hill.

He failed to negotiate the sharp curve in the road and laid his motorcycle down and collided with the guardrail. He then attempted to run on foot from Officer McDaniel, Officer Machado & Sgt. Soria.

Officer McDaniel deployed his tazer and the rider fell to the ground.The California Highway Patrol Officers and Sgt. placed the rider into custody.

The rider, was cleared at SRMC for any injuries he may have obtained in the collision and was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail
