Sonora, CA…The Sonora Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred just before midnight on Wednesday, September 16th. Dispatch received several 911 calls regarding shots fired in the area of School Street late last night. Officers arrived on scene within a minute of the initial call but were unable to locate anyone in the area. The Police Department received another call shortly afterward from an associate of the victim to advise his friend had been shot and that they were currently at the hospital.

Officers responded to the hospital and learned that the 17-year-old male victim had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
