(Acreage updated due to improved mapping) Some areas remain under evacuation orders and Highway 395 has reopened. Please be advised that downed power lines are in the vicinity of the fire. The Mountain View Fire has burned approximately 20,879 acres with 20% containment in Walker, California in Mono County within the Federal Direct Protection Area (DPA). The change in acreage is due to improved GIS mapping. Other towns impacted include Coleville, Topaz and the Camp Antelope Native American community.
