Murphys, CA…The Grapeful Dead stomping team of Jennifer & Dale Marcum took the 2015 Championships with a stunning total of 18.31 lbs of juice. After round after round of preliminary stomps, two semifinal heats and the championship round it was The Grapeful Dead from Los Gatos, Sushi & Waswabi from Hercules, Don’t Stop Till You from San Jose, The Wright Stuff from Hercules, Hatcher Winery from Murphys, Pressing Matters from Angels Camp, Chico Crushers from Chico, Mucker Truckers from Burlingame, Fresno 55 Wine from Fresno & Get Hammered from Murphys.
It was another travel marketer’s dream day in Murphys for the 2015 Grape Stomp & Street Faire. Good crowds especially so soon after the Butte Fire, perfect temperatures, good food & drink. Many of the proceeds went to The Calaveras Foundations Disaster relief fund, other local charities & non-profits.
Momentum was building for the 2015 Stomp before the Butte Fire and then sign up for entrants just stopped during the fire. There was some concern for a smaller than normal event but as soon as the ash stopped falling things kicked into high gear and the it was another great event in Murphys.
