San Andreas, CA… Meet Gabriel – a handsome shorthaired white and orange older junior tabby. Over-the-top friendly and a real cuddle bug, Gabriel has yet to meet a human he doesn’t like. He adores being held and absolutely melts in your arms when picked up. Gabriel must be an indoors only kitty, though – not only because his light coloring will attract predators but also because he has a penchant for climbing tall trees and needs help in getting down. In fact, that is how he found his way to the shelter after being rescued. Gabriel would do well in most any household where he can get the love and attention he craves.

As with all cats available for adoption, Gabriel is up-to-date on his routine vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. Already neutered, he is able to go home with you today!

Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Currently, the Calaveras shelter remains open for visitors wishing to adopt. We are, however, limiting viewing to one person at a time in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please understand there may be a wait for you to view the shelter animals, many of which still await their forever homes during this pandemic. Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!

When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
