Big Sur, CA…Highway 1 south of Big Sur near Big Creek Bridge at Mile Marker 30 remains CLOSED until further notice due to washout of the roadway after heavy rains and winds pelted the coast. Our crews and contractor have secured the area with damage assessment underway. The town of Big Sur is OPEN and accessible from the north (Carmel). The south end remains closed at Ragged Point.
