Sonora, CA…On February 28, 2021 at approximately 5:32pm, CHP Officer’s received a call that a 17-year-old female from Sonora was located in a ditch on State Route 49 near O’Hara Drive with what appeared to be major injuries. Upon the officer’s arrival at the scene, they located the injured female and suspected she was stuck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Unfortunately, as the female was being treated by medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the female is not being released at this time.
