Sonora, CA…A student at Sonora High School has been arrested for making threats against the school and other students. The Police Department was notified by the administration at Sonora High School of a student potentially making statements to bring a gun to school. During the course of the investigation, Officers learned that disturbing and threatening messages had been sent to other students via various social media platforms.

We worked diligently with the school administration and other local partners to help ensure the safest possible outcome for this situation.

The suspect’s motives are not completely clear at this point, and we will not be releasing any specific details regarding the threats, which would be detrimental to the case.
