Meet Ollie the Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Ollie – a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. This handsome, sturdy breed was created in Africa to be a versatile hunter and home guardian. These days Rhodies are less likely to hunt lions than they are to search out a soft spot on the sofa after going jogging with you. Ollie himself has had a rough life yet is a volunteer favorite. Once you’ve earned his trust, he is very eager to please. Intelligent and dignified, Ollie walks well on a leash and will sit for treats. This affectionate boy especially enjoys spending time with his humans and being petted. We also believe he is housebroken since he keeps his kennel clean.

As with all dogs available for adoption, Ollie is micro-chipped and up-to-date on his routine vaccinations. He will need a home without small animals and to be neutered before going home with you. If you have another dog, a meet ‘n’ greet is required.

Come visit Ollie, impound no. AO52571, along with other dogs and cats awaiting adoption at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.).
