Agatha is your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Agatha – a delightful shorthaired dark brown and white tabby adult. Agatha has an adorable bobtail that literally vibrates when she is being petted or gets excited. Friendly and exuberant, this sweet girl is happy to be around people, whether being petted or curling up in your lap. When held, she will knead like crazy but is gentle and keeps her claws in at all times. Agatha will occasionally give you a “love nip” when over stimulated but calms down quickly. She also very much enjoys being the center of attention. For these reasons, we feel Agatha would do best in a home with cat-savvy adults, possibly older children and one where she would be the only feline.

As with all cats available for adoption, Agatha is up-to-date on her routine vaccinations and has been micro-chipped. Already spayed, she is able to go home with you today!

Come visit Agatha, impound no. AO52603, along with other cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Currently, the Calaveras shelter remains open for visitors wishing to adopt. We are, however, limiting viewing to one person at a time for COVID precautions. Please understand there may be a wait for you to view the shelter animals, many of which still await their forever homes during this pandemic. Adoptable animals may also be viewed on the web at http://animal.calaverasgov.us/Adoptions and on the Calaveras County Animal Services Facebook page.
Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!

When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered is $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
