WRAP System Used on Jamestown Man Arrested for Fighting with Deputies

Jamestown, CA…Yesterday afternoon, deputies were called to Rocca Park in Jamestown for a man yelling and causing a disturbance. When deputies arrived, they saw and could hear the man, 45-year-old John Hosek of Jamestown, yelling. Deputies approached Hosek and attempted to calm him and speak with him. Hosek yelled obscenities at the deputies. Due to Hosek’s agitated state and concerns for the public’s safety at that time, Hosek was ordered to lay face down on the ground. Hosek refused the orders, took a boxing stance, approached the deputies, and challenged them to a fight.

A physical struggle ensued. A Deputy used a Taser, but it was ineffective. Hosek was able to remove a taser probe from his body which he threw at one of the deputies. The probe struck the deputy in the face and caused minor injury. A struggle continued until Deputies were able to eventually gain control of Hosek, placing him in handcuffs. Hosek continued to resist deputies after being handcuffed and was placed in the WRAP body restraint system. Hosek was transported to Adventist Health Sonora for a medical evaluation prior to being booked into the county Jail for resisting an officer resulting in injury to the officer, battery on an officer and violation of parole.
