One-Way Traffic Control on State Route 4 in Avery for Culvert Replacement

Avery, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will replace an existing culvert on State Route 4 at Morris Road in the town of Avery. Crews will replace the existing steel pipe with a new, reinforced concrete pipe at the existing inlet. The new outlet will be placed about 15 feet downstream from the existing outlet.

Workers also will install headwalls at the inlet and outlet of the new culvert and reconstruct the pavement structural sections.

The project is scheduled to begin in May and end in early June.
Work is expected to occur from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There will be one-way traffic control, so motorists should expect 10-minute delays and seek alternate routes whenever possible.

The $346,000 project was awarded to CCFG Construction of Sonora, CA.
The work schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, materials, and/or construction-related issues.

For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert.
