13 New Covid Cases in Amador County

Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health reports 13 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,764. The new cases include 6 males and 7 females, 4 children under the age of 18, 6 aged 18-49, 1 aged 50-64, 2 over 65 years of age; 7 residing in Ione, 1 in Jackson, 1 in Pioneer, 1 residing Plymouth/surrounding areas, 2 living in Sutter Creek/Amador City and 1 in Volcano. Tomorrow, April 28th, 2021, Amador County moves to the less restrictive orange (moderate risk) tier within California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This move allows for more outdoor gatherings, plus additional retail, places of worship, theater, restaurant, and fitness center capacity as detailed on the Blueprint for Safer Economy Activity and Business Tiers chart.

Amador County Public Health is now using California’s My Turn platform for COVID-19 vaccination clinics registration. The vaccination clinic scheduled for this Thursday, April 29th, will use the Johnson & Johnson Janssen single-dose vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that the use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine resume. Visit the CDC website for more details. This Friday, April 30th, Public Health will offer a walk-in Moderna vaccine clinic at the Health and Human Services building in Sutter Creek, located at 10877 Conductor Blvd in Sutter Creek. Those who live or work in Amador will be registered on-site between 9 am and 3:30 pm. Next week, Public Health is planning a Pfizer vaccine clinic, for those 16 years of age and older, on Wednesday afternoon, May 5th, 2021 from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Health and Human Services building.

Over 26,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Amador to-date.

Jackson CVS, Safeway, Walgreens, and Walmart pharmacies are also offering COVID-19 vaccine by appointment. Vaccine appointments are scheduled via their respective websites. Residents may also reach out to their health care provider to inquire if vaccine is available within their health care system.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released additional guidelines for safer indoor and outdoor activities. Outdoor visits and activities are safer than indoor activities, and fully vaccinated people can participate in some indoor events safely.
